What is eVTOL?
eVTOL means electric vertical takeoff and landing — aircraft that can take off and land vertically using electric propulsion, then typically transition to efficient forward flight. The term is common in advanced air mobility (AAM) and urban air taxi discussions.
Not every air-taxi-adjacent program is eVTOL. Hybrid-electric VTOL, eSTOL (short takeoff and landing), flying cars, and conventional helicopter taxis appear in the same market conversation but use different propulsion or takeoff profiles. This directory labels those distinctions so you can browse the right category.
Certification (for example FAA, EASA, CAAC, JCAB) is program-specific and often multi-year. Certification labels appear only when public materials support them — we do not invent cert status.
